Discover the Nature Trails and Hidden Gems of Airpark Samara

Discover the nature trails and hidden gems of Airpark Samara, because we believe your dream home should be surrounded by more than just beauty—it should be part of a living, breathing natural landscape. That’s why we’ve created a network of peaceful walking and biking trails throughout the airpark, open to all residents. Whether you’re a pilot looking for a tropical retreat, a nature lover seeking privacy, or simply someone who enjoys the outdoors, these trails invite you to connect with the land every day.

Trails for Walking, Biking, and Everyday Joy

Winding through shade and sunlight, these trails offer a unique way to explore the airpark. Some are designed for relaxing walks under the canopy of tall trees, while others are wide enough to enjoy on a mountain bike or road bike. Pieter, our co-founder, regularly rides here with neighbors and cycling friends from nearby Samara Beach—a favorite destination for cyclists in the region thanks to its location between Nosara and Carrillo.

These paths aren’t just practical—they’re full of charm. You’ll hear birdsong, spot colorful wildlife, and maybe even meet a neighbor walking their dog. The peaceful energy of the land is hard to describe, but easy to feel.

Shared Spaces for Relaxation and Connection

Along the trails, we’ve created simple yet beautiful spaces to slow down. Wooden benches offer quiet spots to sit, breathe, or enjoy a conversation. Some areas are perfect for meditation or simply soaking in the scenery. You’ll find places to fish by the river or to let your dogs cool off in the shallow waters.

And while these trails may pass near private lots, they’ll always remain open to all residents. This is part of our vision for shared green space—beautiful, natural areas that everyone in the community can enjoy for years to come. You can walk all around the entire airpark; by looping behind the runway, you’ll arrive on the other side where more open spots with benches invite you to pause and take in the view.

Respecting Nature While Creating Access

From the start, Pieter’s vision has been to protect as much of the natural environment as possible. We build around the trees—not through them. That’s why some lots still look wild and overgrown at first glance. But when you walk through them, the hidden beauty becomes clear.

For example, the lots along the river were once so densely covered that you couldn’t even see the water. Now, with carefully placed openings, the incredible river views are finally visible—just imagine waking up to that outside your window.

On the mountain side of the airpark, new paths now allow access to shaded areas that were previously unreachable. Some of the oldest and most majestic trees on the property—once hidden behind thick brush—are now fully visible. Locals even say the trees here have a special energy. We don’t know if they speak, but they definitely leave an impression. Living close to nature is also one of the key aspects of life in a Blue Zone—a proven recipe for health and longevity. A Living Landscape

In the near future, residents like Pieter and his neighbor Darin plan to bring horses to the property. Two grazing pastures are already being prepared. It’s all part of building a community that values open space, healthy living, and deep respect for nature.

Whether you’re flying in for a weekend or planning to live full-time in your dream hangar home, the trails and green spaces at Airpark Samara are here for you. They’re more than paths—they’re part of the lifestyle.

A Circle for Ceremony and Connection

Tucked between graceful bamboo trees lies a special round space—natural, quiet, and full of potential. This serene clearing was designed as a place for ceremony, meditation, and healing. It’s the perfect setting for a sound healing session, yoga circle, or mindful gathering. Surrounded by tall green bamboo, the area feels both protected and open, making it an inspiring place to connect with yourself or with others. Whether you’re hosting a retreat or simply looking for a moment of peace, this sacred space invites stillness and reflection.

Welcome to “The Cockpit”—Our Airpark’s Gathering Spot

At the heart of Airpark Samara you’ll find “The Cockpit,” our custom-built dome tent that serves as the social hub of the community. More than just a meeting place, it also functions as the official sales office for the airpark and the ticket office for Green Airways private flights. The beautifully landscaped outdoor area borders the runway, so guests can enjoy watching takeoffs and landings while relaxing in the garden.

It’s also an ideal spot to unwind after a walk through the nature trails—sit back, grab a drink, and enjoy the breeze as planes glide by. This shared space is perfect for community events, with a covered bodega, outdoor kitchen, and full restrooms to accommodate larger gatherings. Whether you’re coming for a tour, joining neighbors for a sunset drink, or just dropping by to say hello, The Cockpit is where connections are made and the spirit of Airpark Samara truly comes to life.
